Baseball fans with more than one team in your city or area -?
I am curious how do you chose which team to cheer for? New York fans, you have the Mets and Yankees, Chicago fans, you have White Sox and the Cubs. Is it family traditions? Are there geographical elements involved? And if your fav team is not in your area, or you don’t have a baseball team near where you live ,why did you decide to root for them? I am just curious.

It’s just whatever you feel and whoever you want to root for. They don’t even have to be in your state.
Family tradition is probably the biggest reason, My grandparents and my parents were (and are) die-hand Halo fans. I also grew up just a couple of miles from the stadium: we could ride our bikes there. Plus, even as a child, I couldn’t stand the phoniness of Lasorda.
1954- Why so sensitive ??
My entire family are Cubs fans and I am the lone White Sox fan. Don’t remember how exactly I became a Sox fan but here I am and I’ll root for them forever.

I live in New York, and I like the Yankees. Maybe since I was little, the Mets used to suck, and the Yankees were winning all those World Series. Since around 1998, I’ve been a Yankees fan.
Im from New York and Im a Yankee, Met and Red Sox fan. Go figure.
Well I come from Peoria IL and I have to say in my area I could of been a Cubs Soxs or Cards fan most of my fam routed for the cubs or the cards but I fell in love with the underdogs winners aren’t always the best answer but know I have some love for the sox just because of Jim Thome is Peoria born and his oldest brother was my Fathers bet friend so got to watch him play since he was young live in TN now and back to the Cards and the Braves but still wear Cubs every wear I go but the love of the game is from the heart you can’t love a team for no other reason then the one that counts maybe This is the year but the cubs are the heart and soul of base ball for me and half the nation from Caly to Maine

i’m in nc, but i root for the yanks b/c my parents grew up in NJ.
I’m a Cub fan and I’d say it comes from family tradition. I have an uncle who is a Sox fan and I hammer him all the time. I also root for the Cubs because I live on the North Side
Im in the bay area
we got the a’s and the giants (go giants)
but, we have 5 teams total in our STATE (giants, a’s, padres, angles, and the dodgers)
so there is alot to chose from!
and the a’s and giants are almost 15 miles apart from each other (just cross the bridge)
and i became a giants fan because i was born into it
i could not LIVE with out the giants!
Well i was born in L.A. so im a dodger fan. But my family’s from the south side of Chicago so they’re all White Sox fans. And i live on the south side now so im a Sox fan. In Chicago its all about what part of town your in. theres a huge rivalry too. GO SOX!!!!
