why do fans of baseball teams that win a championship use that as an excuse to riot burn their own city down

are baseball fans that pathetic stupid? does winning a stupid baseball game where the real winners are the overpaid ballplayers makes it right for fans to use it as an excuse to riot by turning police cars over setting cars on fire attracking people in the streets? why are fans such uncivilized animals over a stupid baseball team winning?

You get a huge crowd togather and a mob mentality takes over.

well they do that in every sport (see Ohio State Football) and yes it’s stupid but most of them are drunk and completely elated in their teams triumph that they think they can do whatever they want

    They are idiots!

J Dub hit the nail on the head. It’s a freekin’ game for gods sake.

Referring to Boston fans in the ‘04 NLCS championship win over the Yankees? Yeah, that doesn’t happen often. Yankees and Red Sox are the biggest rivalry in all of baseball and the fans tend to forget that it’s just a baseball game (albeit an important one) and lose their minds.

Last time Maryland Basketball won the national championship, they flipped at least one police car on campus in a HUGE riot. It’s not just baseball, its most sports. Calling baseball fans alone pathetic and stupid isn’t really justified here. And same goes for the overpaid comment. Its actually a reality that of Baseball, Basketball, Football and Hockey, Baseball has the third lowest average salary. And keep in mind that they play at least double the games other sports do too. But most fans don’t have the mentality. It’s just a unfortunate few who give true fans a bad name.

You’re absolutely right. This year we’ll do all the burning and destroying in the losing team’s city. I light five cars on fire and I’m the uncivilized animal? Big deal. They were made in Japan.

It’s just not right is it? But as the gentleman above said if you get mobs of people together anything can happen for some reason people think its ok if something good has happened to act like idiots …when young people get together they do things they think will impress others….same as it ever was…

It isn’t just baseball dude! Look around sports it happens in some cities with the NBA, college athletics. The yankees won a bunch of times in the late 90’s and 2000 and there was no rioting in NYC. There weren’t riots in St Louis last year. I don’t know what you have been watching!

Jesus said it best: see ohio state football
I was 17 visiting Ohio State for a college visit when I got pelted with tear gas after OSU beat ND. I was 17. IT WAS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  11. Elliott Howlett Said:

Last year in St. Louis, when the Cardinals won the World Series there were not any riots going on. It was a giant celebration in the streets. I think the people that riot and burn are just drunk and end up getting more drunks to join into their destruction.
